Personally, I have worked in a busy intensive care unit as a nurse for 12 years. It was very hectic and most shift were extremely busy with very sick patients. Taking care of these patients is very difficult and requires a lot of experience with excellent critical thinking skills. Patients are on the verge of death most the time and you experience plenty of death in that environment. If intensity is what you are looking for, the ICU is for you.
