Should I just focus on school/studies Freshman year?

Instead of doing a lot of sports or clubs should I just focus on school? Or instead of trying to be popular or going to games or events should I focus on getting good grades?

Find the balance always. Grades and academic success is a priority but should not be the only focus. Now is a good time to set the intention of balancing work and play!

Your studies should definitely be at the top of your priority list throughout college, especially your freshman year. However, it'll be unhealthy to make that your only focus. Indulge your interests and be very intentional about letting your hair down often enough. You just need to find a healthy balance between everything, stay dedicated and disciplined. Also get advise from senior colleagues on what to expect from your studies going forward. If "a lot" of sports wouldn't interfere with your studies, by all means, knock yourself out. You also shouldn't be too focused on being popular. You always make healthier and more sustainable friendships and connections when you're not trying hard to appeal to other people's sense of intrigue.

Just make sure you're doing your best to get good grades but also make time for the things you love doing and sports.

There's no one-size-fits-all solution to relaxation, but it's essential to give yourself the chance to discover what works for you and prioritize your well-being.
