Hi there, MarQuel! Getting a job in medicine you like right out of college depends on many factors, but the most important thing to remember is that unfortunately, people will always get sick so there will always be a need for medical professionals. Here is what I did:
- found a reputable college that had the program I wanted a degree in
-made sure that college’s program had accreditation from the agency that board certified people who get that degree
-contacted the Medical School on the college campus and they put me in contact with the advisor for the program I was interested in
I hope this is helpful to you, and I wish you the best!

Hello MarQuel,
I love this question! I'm so glad you asked. I think it's really important to look at a variety of schools with different admission records--those that may be very difficult to get into, but also others that may be easier. I have met and worked with some of the very best medical professionals who did not go to those schools considered to be the best. Your dedication and skills are honestly just as important as the schools you attend. If you want to learn more about medical school rankings there are places to review. You can visit US News and World Report rankings and search for medical schools if that is what you are interested in. To answer your specific question here are the top ten they report: Harvard, Johns Hopkins, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Duke, Stanford, University of California San Francisco, Vanderbilt, Washington University in St. Louis, and Cornell. But I encourage you to look very closely at other schools that are excellent for medical training but are not the top ten. I hope this helps you a bit! Best of luck to you...
