Hi Chase,

22 year US Army Special Operations (USASOC) retired soldier here.

While there is no direct recruitment to "Delta Force", better known as CAG (Combat Application Group) or AWG (Asymmetric Warfare Group) in the community, you can join any branch of service and attend their A&S (Assessment and Selection). Typically you have to be of a certain rank(E-4 and above) and have stellar physical and mental stamina, along with great teamwork ethic and a no quit attitude, no matter what, ever. They take only the highest of the high applicants and train them beyond their breaking points. If you ever want to join them, just remember 3 things:
1. Everything is a test.
2. You're being watched all the time.
3. You're easiest day was yesterday.

Although the idea of joining them is semi-romantic and fantasized, it is an incredible amount of work and very, very hard on families. Being in a group like that takes all your dedication with little to no reward or acknowledgment. People are not allowed to know what you do, where you go, or where you've been, as it will make you a target. Not to mention nation security concerns. AWG is a counterterrorism group much like Seal Team 6, and operate as such. They are experts at being experts in all things war and Warfare related, especially guerilla Warfare tactics. Current global events will determine your career and your career path. They are elite and are exactly on par with only said Seal Team above. Every branch has Tier 1 operators and they all have specific jobs. I'll list them for you.

1. US Army-JSOC: AWG
2. US Navy- DEVGRU: Seals
3. US Marines- MARSOC: Force Recon/Raiders
4. US Airforce- SWS: JTAC, PJ, Commando
5. US Coast Guard- DSF: MSST, MSRT

Along with these operators, there are also Tier 1 support groups that help make their missions happen. Aviation, maritime, and ground support units, all have special operation groups as well.

I hope this finds you well and please reach out again if you have anymore questions about that community of people.

Sean recommends the following next steps:

Get in great physical shape.
Talk to a recruiter.
Serve your time, make the rank, assess for a team.
Get smart on all things from around the world.
Stay smart on all worldly current events. They affect your career.

Hi Chase,

There is no direct recruitment of civilians for the Delta Force. You need to join the army first and serve with the Army Rangers or Special Forces.

Good luck!
