Hello Isabella,
To kickstart your career, define your goals, acquire relevant skills through education or training, build a strong network, gain practical experience through internships or projects, and stay adaptable in a dynamic job market. Additionally, tailor your resume to highlight relevant skills and achievements, create a professional online presence, attend industry events, and consider seeking mentorship for guidance and insights. Regularly update your skills to stay competitive and be persistent in your job search.
In order to pursue design marketing you should learn design principles and marketing strategies. Consider courses in graphic design, branding, and digital marketing. Understand marketing concepts: Grasp fundamental marketing concepts such as target audience analysis, market research, and campaign planning.
Best of luck on your career.

Hi Isabella, that's great - you already know what you want to do! You're already so far ahead comparing to some student who are still searching for that one thing they'd like to do.
If you're already a design marketing student - that's great! If not, you can find free courses online to getting you started. One of the available studies can be found here: https://skillsbuild.org/adult-learners/explore-learning/ways-of-working Agile and design thinking are two of the concepts you'll use one way or another in design marketing.
Then it's only a matter of exploring which design marketing aspects you like the most: make a list! As soon as you have this list, you can start creating your own assignments - as you believe you'll get from a job. Complete the assignments and evaluate your work, find what you can improve and doing it again until you believe you've advanced in your skills. Keep a track record of it all and publish them either on a blog, or any social media accounts. Connect with the people who you appreciate in your area of expertise, follow the companies you'd like to work for and search for job roles related to design marketing. Your work will become your portfolio and you'll get more visibility.
Start, finish, repeat again! It's a continuos process until you get a job.

The best way to kickstart your career is to gain practical experience across various design marketing avenues. This will not only broaden your knowledge about different marketing channels that can be relevant to your desired job but also equip you with new skills that can help you when applying for positions. You can do this by enrolling in marketing and design courses and mastering popular design programs, tools, and software. Internships are also a great way to gain experience, explore new opportunities, and grow your professional network.

A great way to kick start your career is simply by talking to people. There are so many industries, jobs, and opportunities that would go unnoticed, but by networking and talking to different people, you may be exposed to something you would not have otherwise known about. A great way to start networking is to sign up for a career fair at your school, or join a business fraternity.
