What kind of people would mainly hire photographers?

I am in highschool in the Bay Area and I am curious about eventually pursuing a career in photography. I am wondering what kind of employers generally would take on a budding photographer. #photographer #employment-law

If it was up to me looking into a photographer I would most definitely look into their previous experience. Do they have albums I can look through so I can see what kind of work they can do. Next I would check out their reviews. Even though people are always going to have their opinion about something it's always good to look at them just in case you get the same issue over and over. That would be a red flag to me because I feel like they photographer hasn't made any changes on how they are handling things per the reviews. Good luck

Hi Edrisina,

I won't be able to answer specifically on what kind of employers would hire photographers, but I know couple of photographers that are mainly doing freelance work and building their portfolio by themselves. Most of them created a professional profile on a website called "Thumbtack" and people usually hire photographers through the website for various events like wedding/baby showers/parties and more! Once you have a more solid profile on Thumbtack (more good reviews from customers), you might be getting hire more often.

I hope this helps, good luck in everything!
