How do I know if something is worth going to school for if I only can get a brief overview of it?

I am really undecided and I am having a hard time even having options to consider because I worry about how worth it is to go to college.

I can only give a vague answer to this as I don't know the course. When I wanted to learn Music Industry way before Youtube and the such. I researched and found people in the field to talk to.
