In high school, you want to take a good balance of classes. If microbiology, anatomy and physiology, or statistics are offered at your school, I would suggest taking those but don't stress if these aren't options. Writing papers and doing research projects were big in my nursing school so try to hone your skills there if you can as well.
Most BSN programs have pretty rigid schedules. I went to NYU and the nursing sequence (the last two years of the four year program) included pathophysiology and a lot of population focused nursing courses. Nursing school classes often include clinical components in which you get hands on experience in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Attached is the NYU nursing curriculum to give you a general idea but every school is different. I hope this answered your question!

Tyjha,
I once was planning to apply to local nursing programs, and I can share with you the classes I took to meet the admissions requirements at the time. I took statistics, microbiology, public speaking, general psychology, English, and anatomy and physiology.
Good luck!
