From personal experience, studying and living abroad should give you an opportunity to add new skills sets (e.g. language, culture adaptation, new education system, additional coursework, etc.) and even allow you to probe some career path possibilities in your point of destination. These benefits are so clear, that here in Europe, college students are highly encouraged to do one year abroad in their respective areas (engineering, medicine, etc) within the EU (Erasmus Program).
Some recommended steps:
1. Research career path options
2. Identify complementary learning topic within major and even outside (business, language, etc)
3. Prioritise top locations for studying based on pragmatic criteria (ease of transfer credits, program meets your requirements on steps 1 and 2, associated costs, entry requirements, internship options, etc.)
4. Contact and network with destination schools and select your candidates
5. Get validation and support from your career counsellor at your local school to ensure you are not missing anything that could impact your final decision
Best luck

Studying abroad is in general beneficial. It broadens your perspective and deepens your understanding to visit places in person. I would make sure that whatever place you choose best correlates with your specific interests. A friend in college studied butterflies and now she frequents to the Amazon to study patterns of rare species.
