Is law school a good decision for an aspiring politician?
My dream job is to an elected official. Many officials as of today have law degrees. Would it be smart for me to go to law school as well?

Congrats on your career goals. For your undergraduate degree it would best to research good pre-law/ political science programs. While you are in undergrad, see if you can actually intern for a local politician, a law firm, or city government to get introduced to potential contacts and learn the ropes. In order to be an elected official, it will require a lot of work ( oftentimes unpaid) in the area in which you desire to start your political career. Internships are a great way to get started. A law degree would open a few doors but its about the work your put in outside of your schoolwork.
Best of luck to you.

Law school does seem to be the standard educational background for politicians these days. However, it is my personal opinion that we should elect more political leaders with a science background. The best way to approach the issues facing our country (and the world) today is by using objectivity and data, which a science background can equip you to understand.
