Julie’s Answer

There are many differences between being a pediatric nurse and a pediatrician; both paths would require pre-college courses focused on math, science, and obtaining all of your general ed HS classes.

You can become a peds nurse by applying to a program within an ADN program (2 years) BSN program (4 years) or any specific nursing programs within your state. You can also go on to become a pediatric NP (Nurse Practitioner) or CRNA and work with children as a nurse anesthetist.

I know that being someone who works with children is valuable and makes a huge difference! Good luck to you!

Richard’s Answer

In general physicians have more stress but make more money than nurses.

One other thing to consider is length of training. Both professions require 4 years of university. Pediatricians also complete 4 years of medical school and 3 years of residency
