Liuv’s Answer

HI, what I did to help me was I picked about 7 degrees: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Graphic Design, Criminal Justice, and Computer Science. Then I did research on them, bls.gov has a lot of useful information. Then I asked myself the following questions: Can I be reading this material at 2 AM studying while I need to be up at 6 AM for work, will this keep me awake? will this interest me? Do I see myself working this degree and being happy? What type of job are you wanting to do? How does the 10 year outlook of that career look like? For each degree I also made a pros and cons list. Hope this helps.

Hello Viridiana
That is a great question and there are some ways to narrow down your choices. One way is to volunteer in some sectors/areas etc that might be of interest to you. For example, if you might be interested in education but are unsure you could volunteer at a school to get a sense of what the role is. You could also try to reach out and "shadow" someone who is in a career that you might be interested in, again to get a sense of what the role is. Another option is that during your first year at school, you enroll in a general program and possibly select some electives that give you exposure to some areas that might be of interest.
I hope this helps
