Samantha’s Answer

Hi Noemi,

This job can be physically demanding because you often have to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and stand for long periods of time. In addition, physical therapist assistants may be required to move heavy equipment and lift patients or help them to turn, stand or walk.

I hope this helps

Sam :)

Hello as i saw your question was about what is the most difficult part for a physical therapist assistant. It is mostly about how you feel and its more with your heart and how you feel with dealing with different types of people around you. Many PTA have concern about touching the patience feet but some have issue with being patience because sometime the patience may be speaking something nonsense but you still have to smile back and answer nicely because you understand better and you have to explain things for longer depending on the opponents understanding.

Bailey’s Answer

I would say the most difficult part at the moment for me would be the schooling. I am doing a part time program but it is intense. It feels like those accelerated programs you hear about being fast pace and a lot of information. Its not that things are hard, its more they take time to learn and practice. So having a good background in exercise science or a related field will help with this, but its not an end all if you do not. As long as you want to get through it, you will get through it. Study hard and practice often. It is not hard, it is more just time consuming and devoting. The good side is you will have classmates that are in the same situation as you. Lean on these other students and ask questions when you are unsure. Being in a clinic is also helpful in seeing what you are learning. Being in a clinic also helps because you are around other people who have been through what you are going through as a student as well. If you are in school to be a physical therapy assistant I would definitely recommend to also work in an outpatient clinic as a tech. Hope this helps!
