Alexis K.’s Answer

The importance of getting a good education is crucial in today's world so that you can equip yourself with the knowledge needed to find your ideal career, and get hands-on training in the major that will give you the most satisfaction. A lot of people who finish high school do not go to college, but do internships based on high school activities and awards and what they learned in high school. Others go to a community college, find vocational or technical training, and find a job that way. Then there are others who go four years to college and finish with a bachelors degree, and then may go on to graduate school. But it is all up to you, and what you want for your life. But school and college can get your mind focused on new and positive things.

Katie’s Answer

College is important if you plan to pursue a career that requires a degree--lawyer, doctor, teacher, etc. For some, college is an opportunity to explore various fields as they try to determine what/who they want to be when they "grow up."

College is not the only way to achieve success in life and may not be the right fit for everyone. Gaining skills and/or knowledge beyond high school is important, and the route each person chooses should be based on his/her career plans.

Robert’s Answer

Many go to college because it is expected of them by family. Others go because they have a career in mind that requires a degree. There are other paths such as trade schools, military service, and entering the work force immediately after school. Regardless of your choice, I strongly encourage you to have a plan. Plans can change which is not necessarily bad, but have a plan. Many finish high school without a plan and don't know what to do.
