I'm in family practice but when I went to medical school, I wanted to be a pediatrician. I think in all fields of medicine, you need to be patient. I think what's hard with kids is that they will have trouble describing their symptoms. They may be scared and just cry when they see you. I was slapped by a kid in the face and I didn't even do anything. My friend who is also a doctor was spit upon when trying to suture. They are scared.
When I was in medical school, one of the doctors said that it was not the kids that were the problem. It was the parents. They are also scared and obviously care about their children. You need to be patient to answer all their questions. Unfortunately, pediatricians are probably one of the lowest paid doctors.

Hello Siya,
Pediatricians ought to be sharp-eyed, smart, tenacious, calm, receptive, and inventive while identifying and managing injuries and illnesses. A keen pediatrician can spot even the smallest shifts in a patient's state and respond appropriately.
Take care.
