Is it better to still live with your parents when you are in College/ University?

I'm a sophomore in college, and I still stay with my parents. Most people find that weird, they expect that you should move out when you are about to go to college. To me it actually saves me money on paying rent and other expenses. But of course if your college is out of state or really far you can stay on campus. But if your school is like 45-50 mins ride everyday, you can save your money for graduate school, and continue to stay with your parents.

Congratulations Mary on your Sophomore year. You are not along. Many students stay at home while in college and after they graduate from college for the same reason you do. Finances. If you participate in the college activities available to you, you will get the same experience.

Mary, it's not weird to still live at home while attending college. My daughter plans to do the same thing when she starts college. I will tell you like I tell her, you maybe be missing out on a having the full college experience. I myself went to college and I regret to this day. I want my daughter to experience all the benefits, such as indendance and responsibility of living away from home.

Mary, it is not weird to still live with your parents. You actually made a smart decision because you are saving a lot money. Many people take out loans to pay for room&board and will be in debt after college, so you truly are better off.
