How do I know if there is a demand for high school English teachers?

I am interested in this field of study, but I'm unsure if I can find a job once I graduate.#education #english-literature #jobdemand #teaching

Tamasyn’s Answer

I have taught for 6 years in New Zealand and am now looking overseas and getting a Masters. There is always a need and especially if you get a TEFL qualification. The options to teach English overseas is massive. Huge demand. While teaching English as a language overseas may not be your focus there are many cross overs with English literature as you teach through stories and film etc often. Keep in mind if you get a Masters you can also often get University lecturing roles or adjunct professor roles.

Raven’s Answer

Hey Lainey,

Right now there is a high demand for teachers more than even in all subjects. Start looking into schools that are in need and schools you'd be interested in teaching at. Our youth really need passionate people to lead them.

LinkedIn.com create a profile and make some connections
Look into Charter schools
