Kaye, that is a great goal! To plan for this career, try to do as well in high school as you can. You can start in community or a 4-year college.
Major in education or some other social science, if you like. Take some psychology, such as child development. You will need a master’s degree in most cases to work as a school counselor. A common degree is a master’s in school counseling, or a master’s of education.
