How exactly does minoring in a field work?

I don't really know a lot about minoring in a field. I just know that it's not your major and it may be like your backup plan or extra skills you may need. Do you take classes for it, just like with a major? Does every college allow you to double-minor or is it just some? #colleges #majors-and-minors #double-minor

When you go to college, you have the opportunity to have a minor are of focus. You will take courses for the minor and learn a good deal about it. If you are interested in a double major, this is a possibility but will take more time since you commit more hours to your major than your minor. If you choose to study multiple minors, it will also take longer. My advice would be to take pre-requisites until you have time to explore and decide on areas of focus for the major and minor.

HI,
Good question....a minor means that you have taken a designated # of courses in a specific area to be awarded a minor along with your major field of study.
Your college/school can advise you more on this...example, when I went to college I took 15 hours of Psychology which gave me a minor in Psychology.
good luck!
