Hello, Ranata !
There is no set timeline for you to do anything special on or after your eighteenth birthday, but there will be things that open up to you when you are eighteen and older.
One thing that you can do if you haven't done so already is get your drivers license. You can visit the DMV website link below to find out how your local DMV is accepting applicants and if you need an appointment for your road test.
Another thing that 18 year olds can do is vote. Your state does not allow voting at age 17 in primaries if you'll be 18 by the time elections come around, so once you turn 18 in your state, you can vote in any primaries and elections. Call your Newburyport Town Clerk for exact information about registering to vote. The link with phone number is provided below.
My advice is to enroll in college when you are 18 to prepare for your future. Think about a career that you are interested in and explore and learn about college admissions. You can explore both local and out of town colleges. The Classroom website has information about how to go about enrolling in college and I have left a link for it below.
I also think that adding to, developing and establishing your personal philosophy on life would be a good idea at age 18. Setting values, ethics, principals and goals for yourself will give you a good foundation going forward with your adult life. Although not a current article, there is good information about how to do this on the Life of Focus website at the link I have provided for you below.
Employment would be a great thing to do if you haven't obtained work already. Besides helping you make credit card payments which you state that you plan to do, you will meet new people and get experience that will carry forward. The article about smart ways to find a job is helpful if you're already working or if you plan to seek employment once you're 18. I left the link below.
All of the suggestions that I've mentioned do not have any age attached to them and you should consider doing things that you are ready to do. Nothing is required once you are 18. You can explore what you'd like in your life and make a well informed decision by reading and asking specific questions. Eighteen may seem like a magical age and it most times is, but there are no requirements so take it a step at a time and remember that you will never stop learning and you will always be introduced to new things at any age.
Best wishes to you in your future plans !

Great question! One thing I'd suggest, if you haven't already, is to begin volunteering for a variety of causes. This will give you greater exposure and experience in working with various people or teams and a glimpse into possibilities for the future. Will also be something you can add to your resume, college, or job applications .
With every good wish.
