Nancy’s Answer
Martha,
Besides child psychologists, teachers, preschool directors, social workers, physical therapists, nurses, and sports and recreation managers work with children. There are other types of therapists as well that do, like speech therapists or audiologists. Human or child development is a good major in college before any of those graduate school programs. You could also pursue a bachelor’s degree in education or a bachelor’s of social work to be prepared to get a job before earning a graduate degree, which practicing as a child psychologist would require.

Hi Martha!
There are many jobs that focus on children such as: teachers, child psychologists, child welfare social workers, nurses, pediatricians, coach, therapist, special education professionals, painting with children, and so many more. I believe you can take any major and somehow include children in it. Majors to work with children can be Child & Adolescent Development, Education, Human Services, Liberal Studies, Art, Psychology, Sociology, Chicanx Studies, Ethnic Studies, and Kinesiology.
