Hi! I know that it is hard to decide what you need to study in order to prepare you for physical therapy. I would advice you to start by inquiring people in your local community who is currently studying physical therapy or who are already in the field of physical therapy. Since you live in Houston, there are many hospitals, clinics and even schools for physical therapy including UTMB in Galveston, The Texas Womens hospital who both offer courses for Physical Therapy. You can start by going to their campus ( if it is permitted) and talk to students currently enrolled in the course. But my advise to you is do search the internet for the following.

Willy recommends the following next steps:

Go to www.apta.org website and then click on careers and education. Then click on prospective students
Go visit the CAPTE website where you can find PT programs in the country. Search for prerequisites/requirements for admission to the PT program
Start reading books related to kinesiology, anatomy ,exercise physiology. Know what is the role of physical therapy , what do they do, etc coz you will be asked very often even when you are already working as a PT .
