Do I have a chance of getting into UNC Chapel Hill?
I have always dreamed of attending UNC Chapel Hill, and I understand that their admission requirements are quite prestigious. I’m in my Junior year have roughly a 4.45 cumulative gpa thus far, and a 30 on my ACT. I also have a lot of extracurriculars as well. Do you think I have a good chance of getting in? #college-recruiting

Hi Jacob,
Congrats on doing extremely well in school. It sounds like you have all what you need. I would call the school's admissions department and speak to a representative to go over all of the school's requirements to get in. It looks like you may be a out-of-state student. Each school has a certain cap for out-of-state students and those slots can be highly competitive. It's best to get direction from the school.
Good luck!

I am a current senior at UNC! also out of state... so i understand the struggle of applying to out of state schools.
I would say absolutely apply; UNC has a requirement that a certain percent of undergrads are from NC, so getting in out of state will be harder when you think about how many fewer spots there are. That being said, the statistics you see online (median GPA/avg ACT score/etc...) won't really be representative for you. A lot of my out of state friends had ACT scores of 32-34, so you're almost there. Definitely play up all those extracurriculars; talk about a few in depth rather than many but not that in depth.
Good luck!
