Do you have any resources for identifying different types of jobs after receiving a degree in finance
I will be attending a college in Michigan to obtain a degree in Finance, but I am not for certain what all type of jobs would be available in that field, other than financial services. I am curious to see what else I might be able to do with this degree.

- FP&A, financial planning and analysis where one supports month end close activities (reviewing actuals, booking accruals, etc.) and reporting, forecasting and budget planning.
- Treasury, where one supports cash planning, debt management, foreign exchange contracts for hedging, investment management, pension management, risk management, etc.
- Strategy, M&A where one supports acquisitions of new companies via analysis/valuation of potential targets, as well as analysis of new business opportunities
- Internal audit, where one investigates internal team compliance with internal financial policies
- Related areas in Operations for a business or global function, where one supports vendor management for contracts, purchase orders, actual spend review, and forecasting planning
There are plenty more opportunities. The above are simply a sample!

I’d encourage you to consider companies/organizations that sell products or services that you enjoy and are passionate about. Maybe one of those companies has an opportunity to cut-your-teeth practicing finance related work through an internship? Make a list of your top 25 favorite brands and begin searching for opportunities! Good luck!

There are many resources on the web that can provide ideas on where a finance degree can take you...investopedia.com , is one resource. I would recommend scheduling an appointment with your academic advisor or with the office of Professional Development, should your college offer this resource.
