Numerous colleges out there provide degrees in real estate. However, you might want to consider pursuing a business degree. It's just as applicable and if you choose a college with an excellent business program, you'll find they also offer real estate classes. A cool bonus is that some of these college classes can contribute towards earning your real estate license.

Hello Hailey,
It's wonderful to hear about your interest in college, especially in the business field. I'd suggest considering colleges renowned for their business programs. Some of the top ones include Northwestern, University of Chicago, UC Berkeley, and Stanford, among others. These are just a few examples, but they're fantastic places to start!

Colleges all over the US are now offering Real Estate degrees. It really depends on if you want to stay closer to home or find something with a specific program.
I would look over this link at US News and World Report. They publish several lists each year ranking colleges for various majors, but hey also list information like their overall rank, enrollment and tuition for each school. https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/real-estate-major-5215
I would also consider looking at schools with great business and marketing programs. The same website can help you narrow down schools that fit many of your preferences.
Finally, I would talk with your counselor at school. They have such great resources for college planning and scholarship information that could be beneficial for you. They may have better advice for you and your specific goals.
Best of luck to you!

Hi Hailey:
While in high school, one will need to focus on business and math classes to prepare for a career in Real Estate. Marketing, finance and accounting will be the core business courses. For math, algebra, statistics and calculus will be needed. Both concentrations will enable you to focus and refine your analytical skills; complex problem solving; investigative and innovative critical thinking; attention to detail and observation skills; etc.
Other skills that will need to be built upon center around team building, team work and communication. In any work culture, collaboration amongst team members, partner departments and clients occur on a daily basis. A college course in public speaking, communications and English will help with one's communication and writing skills since analysis reports are generated and findings are presented to colleagues and other professionals who deal with Real Estate. Another recommendation is to seek the advice from your high school guidance counselor and teachers. They can help guide your educational pathway for Real Estate.
According to U.S. News & World Report, here is a link to the Best Colleges and Universities for Real Estate Programs:
- University of Wisconsin - Madison
- University of Pennsylvania
- New York University
- University of Texas - Austin
- University of Georgia
- University of California - Berkeley
- University of Southern California
- Florida State University
- University of Florida
- University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill

When reviewing colleges and universities, it is best to check the following:
- In-State vs Out of State Tuition
- Internships
- Scholarships
- Career Placement upon graduation
- Course work and offered classes
- Post-Graduate Degrees - Master and Doctoral
Scholarship applications can start to be submitted during your Junior year and will continue throughout your Senior year in high school. It is best to ask your Academic Advisor/School Counselor on the timeline process as well. Scholarship applications will have specific deadlines and requirements to meet in order to be submitted for review and consideration.
You may want to start to compile your resume/portfolio since a majority of scholarship applications will require academic grade point average (GPA), academic accomplishments, school activities (clubs, sports, etc.), community involvement (volunteer, church, etc.), academic and personal recommendations, etc. There may be essay requirements on why you are a qualified candidate to receive the scholarship, what your future goals are academically and professionally and other questions centering around who you are, your beliefs, etc.
Here are a couple of links for College Scholarships:

Also, it will be best to check with the colleges and universities that you will be applying to. You can check with the School/Department of your desired major, the Campus Career Center and the Register's Office for additional information for college scholarships and grants and specific requirements for qualifications.
Best wishes for your education and career path in Real Estate!
