What's after college?

I don't know what to do after I obtain my degree. Finding a job would be ideal, but where do I start? Should I already be in touch with companies or should I simply apply to some? Should I find a job to keep income steady while I search for the position I desire? I have many questions such as the aforementioned, but what would you suggest? #career #after-college #life-choice

Thank you comment icon I would suggest that you find what you want to do. If finding a job is your current priority, then I would suggest you to open an account on Linkedin.com and start networking with people in a field that you want to be in. I always recommend people to do a job that you actually want to do instead of finding a job that doesn't attract your interests. You can also try and attend some networking events near where you are and get to know someone. YUKI

Hi Zachary

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! What an exciting time for you. I would suggest that you cant start networking soon enough. Get to know and understand the companies that you think you might want to work for. Talk to people who already work in your chosen field - they can be a wealth of information. Take advantage of internship opportunities if applicable. Your school likely has a vast network of alumni who can help, as well as professors who may know of applicable companies where graduates have been successful. Your school may also have career placement recourses that you can tap into - most colleges and universities do. Look in to job fairs that are likely held in your area that can be a great way to get your name out there and get to know some of the recruiters. Setting up a LinkedIn profile can be helpful as it can provide direction on who to contact and potential job openings. Wow, there is a lot you can do! Ideally you will have a job already lined up before cap and gown day!

Good Luck!

First of all, you must realise where your interests lie. Getting a job that you don't find very interesting would be a burden for you. So, find your interests, read about companies, make an account on Linkedin and follow people related to your career and interests. Going for a major in your field is another option, if you're interested.
