Is a doctoral degree worth it?

I want to major in Nuclear Medicine and become a doctor/physician in the field, but I'm unsure if it's worth taking a large student loan for med school. My family isn't the wealthiest and I do not desire to spend my parents' money on anything past a four-year university. I'm willing to work hard for the degree, but I wonder if the loan, time, and effort outweigh the positives of the career. #career #student-loans #medicine #doctor

Becoming a nuclear medicine physician or radiologist requires an MD or DO degree.

It is absolutely worth it. There are a lot of long hours studying in the library followed by long hours in the hospital, but it is a fulfilling career. There are so many opportunities after medical school... different specialties appeal to different individuals. Or you can follow a nonclinical route in research or even hospital administration.
