Hi Laura,
Great question! There is always a need for accountants no matter what part of the country you live in, and depending on your level of education or experience, an internship is a great way to get introduced to the field of accounting! I would recommend browsing career websites for job postings in your area. I would also see if your school has an upcoming career fair. That is a great way to meet people in the field and get a more in depth understanding of what the internship will entail. I recommend having an updated resume to share your experience with potential employers. Additionally, the big 4 accounting firms (PwC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte) have offices globally and are always looking to hire new interns. Good luck with your internship!

To obtain an internship in accounting, check with your school to see if there are career fairs or other events where you can network with local accounting firms. You can also do an internet search for accounting internships in your area. Make sure you have an updated resume that shows your GPA and any relevant extracurricular activities.

Hi Laura, accounting is a growing field and there is a continued demand for accountants. Many firms and companies have internship or leadership programs available for which they are constantly looking to fill with strong candidates. You search number of websites that will list a number of available opportunities. I would also suggest updating your resume and possibly even creating a LinkedIn account to help build your education and professional network. This will make you more visible to recruiters when they are looking to fill various positions.
I would also recommend attending a career fair or reaching out to some of your professors/teachers to see if they are aware of any open opportunities in the community. There are opportunities out there both in the public sector and private companies and it all depends what you are looking to do with your career to determine what will work best for you and begin to shape your future career.
