Hello, Seth !

Becoming an Accountant will only "help" you if you have a strong drive towards wanting to become one. That is the foundation you will need for you to feel satisfied with this career. If you are considering becoming one, you should read up more on what it's like and what skills you will need to be successful in that field.

All careers have their positive and challenging aspects, but when you have a passion for a certain field of work, you learn with experience how to manage it all. I have left a link to an article about the pros and cons of being an accountant so that you can get some insight. It's okay to question a career. If you want to dedicate your future to a career where you'll be spending a good deal of your time, it's worth giving it much thought.

Another thing to think about is you will have to have a passion for numbers and math. You will also be expected to participate in meetings and communicate information to colleagues. Most accountants I know are solitary, have their own office and don't mingle with coworkers that much, but are very skilled and know how they connect to others in the office. One can't fully predict how your career will go. It will depend on the size of the office or company, whether you work in a large city or not, whether you work in a for-profit or non-profit company or organization, a government or private company. So, you cannot get the entire picture before your obtain your career.

It comes down to you being the one that sees and experiences how accounting will help you. Start becoming involved with a math club or any activities that your school has connected to business or math. That should help bring things to light for you and make it easy for you to decide if accounting is the right career for you.

You can also watch the videos on You Tube to get an idea of what people are saying about being an accountant. I have left a link to some videos for you below.

I hope that this was helpful and I wish you all the best !
