How can I organize a move to a third world country safely?
When I graduate college, I would like to spend some time teaching math in South or Central America to the local people. I am wondering how I could make that happen while also considering my safety.

Hi,
Try finding an international organization with a good track record that will support you along the way.
Another idea: reach out to people from your country that are already doing what you want to do and ask for their advice. I'm sure they will be very open.
Good luck in your adventurous!

Hi,
The US State Department has a web sight with information about each country and any security concerns. I would start there. I would also suggest going there under the auspices of one of the many charitable organizations that work in the area you are interested in going to. the college you go to may very well have a program for teaching in 3rd world countries.
Good Luck,
