Is a college education better than being in the arm forces?

If putting my family in a bind to pay for college for me then my second option will be joining the arm forces.#choosing-a-career

Thank you comment icon Hello Catherine, The military actually pays for your college if you are in the service or by joining ROTC like Mr. Johnston stated. Also there are other ways to pay for college as well. Here are a few links you can look at for more information. https://www.goarmy.com/rotc/courses-and-colleges/military-colleges.html 2. https://www.military.com/money/personal-finance/banking-and-savings/5-strategies-to-pay-for-college.html Devetra

Tally’s Answer

It's important to graduate from college debt free, or with minimal debt that you can pay off quickly by working towards a good paying career. You are young, and can work part time while going to school to pay for school. You can work full time during breaks and summer. Don't go to an expensive, fancy school that costs $50,000 per year to work at a low paying job. Go to your local state school, start with community college and save tens of thousands of dollars! You should join the armed forces if you believe in serving your country - which is very admirable. But you will have a miserable few years if you're just doing it to pay for college. Work your butt off in part time jobs, gig work, etc and you can do it.

Spencer’s Answer

My best friend did both. He signed up for ROTC during college, and they paid him to go to school. He then signed up to be a paratrooper. They paid for his school and a monthly stipend to help him eat and pay for other expenses.
