Hi Keyla, I think to answer this question you should first think about your own interests and the things that you like to do or would like to do in the future. For instance, are you usually drawn to the investments section of a newspaper or a publication? then finance may be a good fit. Do you enjoy photography? then maybe you should consider a career in arts. Do you like to care for animals? perhaps a path to veterinary school is for you. Thinking about your interests should narrow your choices which you can then discuss with a career counselor at your school. If you can't think of anything that stands out then that's ok! you can start with an undecided major and start exploring different classes to see which ones catches your attention the most and which ones align better with you own skills and strengths.

The biggest reason you may not want to is because if you are not 100% into that field or subject you can waste a lot of time. You may want to change your subject then.
If you go in knowing your first year will be your basics then you can still get that experience and focus on finding your self.
This comes with some negatives though, you might take a class that you cannot apply to your actual degree.
At the end of the day, there is no perfect way to do it. There is just your way to do it. I’ve seen every variant of how this works.
The biggest takeaway I would give you is to be patient with yourself. To be kind to yourself through this process. It’s potentially a life long decision. Take your time making it.
