What is the best way of making yourself stand out when applying for a scholarship ?

I want to stand out when applying for scholarship because i need them as for i am the first person in my familly to go to college.

First, if you are writing an essay, try to bring personal anecdotes into the essay which will make it creative and stand out. You can also use the fact that you are the first in your family to go to college as an advantage because you can use it to say how committed you are to receive a higher education and how great of an achievement it is for you to go to college. Be you authentic self when applying for scholarships! Tell your story, if it's an essay based scholarship write about you being the first person in your family to attend college, explain why it's important to you, and how education is what you're striving for. Speak about your family and really bring yourself into the scholarship.
