How can I begin to prepare for my major?

I am studying Kinesiology in college to become a Pediatric Physical Therapist. I know I will begin those specific studies later in college after gen eds, but i want to begin to prep for it. How do i do so? How do i start internships? #hospital-and-health-care #physical-therapy

As far as internships you could either go to the school counselor and ask for a listing of places or you can just start calling offices yourself and inquire if the doctor accepts interns? This is what I did and I was very successful be proactive .

Wow. That is so cool that you have such a specific goal in mind!!

First off, it sounds like you will really need to have a strong foundation in both physics and biology, so try to do well in those courses, and if you are having trouble, make sure you ask for help.

As far as internships. Here is my honest advice. You will get experience in clinics and hospitals. One of the most challenging parts about being a pediatric PT is to come up with good activities to challenge your patients and keep their attention. This can be really hard for a young kid who doesn’t want to do their exercises. The people I see who are best at motivating kids are people who spent their summers as a camp counselor!!! I would strongly recommend pursuing paid or volunteer work with kids to learn how to motivate them.
