How do I know that I am doing the right thing?

I will be pursuing my bachelors. I already have my associates. I will be moving to where I don't know anybody. And I don't deal well with stress.
Is this really the right thing for me?

Hi Lauren, I believe that is a question that never goes away no matter how old we get. Big changes can be as exciting as they are scary. If this is something you have wanted and worked for, then your gut will tell you to go for it! Being alone in another place would cause stress in most people especially if you don't speak the language. At the same time, this sounds like an amazing opportunity!

Rachel’s Answer

You will have to experience changes as you grow up. You will make decisions and then sometimes it will be your responsibility to make it right.

Richard’s Answer

Unfortunately putting yourself in stressful situations is the best way to experience growth.

You will meet new people and have new experiences. Not everything will be pleasant, but take this opportunity to learn about yourself and the world around you.

Good luck on your journey!

Shulin’s Answer

Hi Lauren,

I know!!! Knowing nothing is scary but nobody knows is this really a right thing. How about you ask yourself in another way, if you are not going to do it this way, will you regret someday in the future?

I left my home country after I graduated from the high school. I went to a totally different country, knowing nobody, to pursue my bachelor. And then, somehow, I don't know where's the courage from?, I was an exchange student from Taiwan to Japan. I don't know any single phrase of Japanese, I don't know where is the airport, how am I going to my university. Look!! I survived! I know a lot of friends from around the world. Of course, I lost contact with most of them after a while, even the best friend in the home country. Sometimes, I feel lonely, I feel stress. At the same time, I had something I would never want? to miss. It is easy to stay in the comfort zone. It will be stressful just stepping outside the circle.

I can't tell you is this the right thing to do for you. I can promise, if you can embrace the changes, everything will be the right thing. SMILE!!! Good luck.
