I’m starting college in the fall, and am unsure what I want to major in. What’s the best way to figure out which major is right for me?
I do well in all my classes but none of them stand out to me as something I want a career in. #choosing-a-major #college-major #college

Good question Emma, and you are not alone. Many young people arrive at college with no idea what they want to major in. The good news is, for most schools you have two years before you have to declare your major. So, you have time; don't stress out. If your school has a career counseling center, pay them a visit; there are lots of books and websites that test you on your interests and make career suggestions. (If there is no career counseling center, visit the library and ask the librarian for help in finding these resources). In addition, take a variety of college courses and engage in a variety of extracurricular activities; something along the line is sure to spark an interest.

Hi Emma,
You are doing exactly what you need to do. Ask a lot of questions to a variety of people. There are two parts.
First, think about your interests and what gets you excited. This for me was business and efficiency. I loved to learn about how businesses are run and how they constantly try to run more efficiently so that they can be successful.
Second, find out which jobs are attainable after finishing in that major. Look for jobs that fulfill what you want. Do you want to be financially secure, do you want to teach in some capacity, do you want to take care of people, do you want to feel fulfilled. Then listen to people talk about their jobs. Find your match and then go for it and don't look back. You got it.
