I will be getting my degree in business and want to know if it's better to get a Business Administration, Accounting or Finance degree.

#financial-accounting
There are so many options when obtaining a degree in business. I want to choose the best option for my future. Are there more job openings in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance out there in the business world. I don't want to look back in 2022 and wish I had concentrated on a different major.

-Incorporate technology classes into your major and learn data tools.

-In your undergraduate business classes you will get a taste of a lot of different areas. Choose what most interests you. If at that point you prefer accounting or finance you should pick this field for your study.

-Also, gain an understanding of the different career paths for each major.

Business Administration is like a big umbrella that covers a wide range of business-related subjects. These include accounting, finance, economics, strategy, organizational behavior, and marketing. If you're studying for a degree in accounting or finance, you'll likely take many of the same courses as a Business Administration student. Plus, you'll dive deeper into your chosen field with some extra classes.

A recent article in the Wall Street Journal highlighted the advantages of having a dual major. So, why not consider pairing accounting and finance? They go hand in hand and can really complement each other!

Hi Hayley, I don't really have a direct answer to your question, but I would ask you too look at what you enjoy doing best or what you could see your self doing as a career. I would ask that you explore what things you enjoy doing and what are your current strengths. The majors you are considering are all great, Accounting and Finance are more specific or focused and with plenty of opportunities, but really consider what you would want to do.

Jess’s Answer

Your degree decision is up to you, however it may help to take a few classes in each, in order to see which peaks your interest the most. Finance 101, Accounting 101, and Business admin classes will all give you an introduction to the subjects, and even though they sound similar, they are really very different. If you need to decide on a degree before you enroll into classes, you can do some research on google to see what each degree is best for what jobs, and which job you might like the most.
