Paul’s Answer

The question is not totally clear. If you mean why do you want to be a doctor, the answer is usually complex. The work is intellectually challenging, which attracts many. The job gives you credit and stature in your community, which again is important to many. Further, the work provides a good income for most, which can provide a pleasant life and also lets you give many opportunities to your children.

Suzanne’s Answer

Alex, I think the reason most of us go into medicine is some combination of loving science and wanting to help people. Being a doctor is a way to combine these two into a meaningful and rewarding career.
