Hi! So here is what to become a Radiologic technologist.

1. Find an accredited college in your area. A school may have the program, but if they aren't accredited then all your hard work was for nothing. If you need help finding an accredited college go https://www.arrt.org/about-the-profession/learn-about-the-profession/recognized-educational-programs

Or

https://www.jrcert.org/find-a-program/

Look up the programs in your area

2. Once enrolled you have to complete the General Education requirements (English, math, science) if not already completed.

3. Submit an application to the health sciences/allied health dept of your school for submission into the Rad tech program.

Generally, only an associates degree (2 years) is needed.

However with the changes happening across the US employment-wise, it would be best to obtain a 4-year degree in radiography/radiological sciences/imaging sciences, if your school of choice offers a 4-year degree.

Also, a Bachelors degree will give you the advantage in most schools of obtaining a second modality( an option to get trained for 2 jobs under one degree). You would be able to choose from Computed Tomography (Cat scans), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and whatever else the school may offer.

I went a little overboard asking, but I hope this helps

LaRita recommends the following next steps:

Research schools in your area
Apply to schools and submit your transcripts
