I want to be a teacher and I don't know the best steps to do that or even the direction to take, all I know is that I have to go to college and get my Bachelors degree. So, is there anyone who can help guide me in the right direction?

I'm asking because I want to be a teacher once I get out of high school, specifically a math teacher. I'm currently a Junior and I've always been good at math as long as I try, it just comes natural. So with that said I think being a math teacher would work out well for me I just don't know how to do that. Also I would like to add that Career Village is something really cool, I've always been pressured to look for a career and I just find the one for me but I think with this I can actually get good help! #teacher #mathteacher #math #career

Hi,

Do you have a favorite subject or teacher in high school? Ask the teacher how she or he got started. Your guidance counsellor should also be able to help. If none of these are available to you, I am quite sure that your state has State Teaching College as a part of their University System - check the Internet for a school near you and contact the Admissions Department about applying. I am positive that they have information to send you to get you started, or you might make an appointment to visit the school and meet someone in the admissions department to discuss going to school there. Many, if not all colleges have open houses in the spring - attend one of those to see the campus and learn about what they offer.

Good luck,.

Being a teacher is a great profession!  What you can do now is to observe and talk to teachers whom you admire.  Ask your friends who are their best teachers and why.  Try to contact some of those teachers and ask if you can treat them to coffee to learn more about their profession and that will also give you an opportunity to find out what steps have worked best for good teachers.

With every good wish!

I believe that you should first complete your degree in maths major and then go further for job.

And also you can do volunteering with study by teaching students. For that contact ngo's nearby.

Best of luck
