Your absolutely best path would be to study history and art history in university. While in university, you will be able to do curatorial internships during your summer months in galleries, museums or other institutions to gain experience as well as network contacts. You can also apply for summer internships in museum collection departments. However, the standard path is through a university degree - often an advanced degree. Your university professors will lead you in the right direction and also open many doors for you.

Good luck! Curatorial work is fascinating and exciting.
