How do I prepare for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT)?

I'm currently a senior in high school and just wanted to know a bit more about how best to prepare for the MCAT in college. I am set on the medical path and hope to one day become a family physician. I just would like to get an idea of the test overall and some helpful study tips to best prepare me to score well and get into medical school. #medicine #medical-school

During college study for and complete the MCAT. Devote an entire summer to studying for the MCAT and consider paying for a prep course if you can afford it.

My son used MCAT Complete 7-Book Subject Review 2019-2020: Online + Book + 3 Practice Tests (Kaplan Test Prep) Kaplan Test Prep
Kaplan Test Prep
Sold by: Amazon.com Services, Inc
It was about $140 and he achieved his goal score.

There is a lot of information available about the MCAT online, as well as free prep materials or guidebooks you can buy. For example, on the website for the Association of American Medical Colleges, there's a whole section on the MCAT: https://students-residents.aamc.org/applying-medical-school/taking-mcat-exam/ Khan Academy has free test prep: https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/mcat And U.S. News and World Report also has some resources: https://www.usnews.com/topics/subjects/mcat
I know there's much more out there, but hopefully this is a helpful start. Good luck!

Just go to FREE aamc.org & read ALL about the MCAT, which you take at end of 3rd year of college if going 4 years, take year 4 if going 4.5 to 5 years! Study hard, but real old MCATS from the AAMC directly & good practice books at bookstore!!!!

You can purchase review book collections online: Princeton Review, Kaplan, Exam Krackers.
You should plan on 6 months studying if in school full time or 3 months if during a summer break.
If you have trouble self motivating, take a class or online class to stay on track. These classes will help identify weaker areas and provide help strengthening those areas. Take plenty of practice tests to really get ready. Be very familiar with the testing site and how to get there. While preparing, eat healthy and exercise to stay physically fit along with mentally fit. Good luck!

I recommend the Princeton Review MCAT prep course. Study for the test like it is college course. Every day for several hours for a semester. Take as many practice tests as possible.
