Should I change colleges based on Majors even if it's going to cost more money?

I changed majors and the school doesn't offer what I want to major in. My girlfriend goes to a college that does offer my major but it's out of state.

Thank you comment icon I want to be a Personal Financial Advisor. So far I have a few interviews in the summer with a few different financial advisors who work at different firms such as Edward Jones Company. I was going to get a bachelors in either finance or accounting and then get a masters afterwards. While I get my degree I hope I can get some type of job in the field I want to go into so I can learn more on the subject. Dalton
Thank you comment icon Okay great! So your current University doesn't have any business majors such as finance ? The reason why I ask is because it might be more beneficial to save money during undergrad. But tell me more about your current major and options at your University please. Shani Lizardi
Thank you comment icon My current college doesn’t offer Finance. It’s a smaller college and doesn’t offer any bigger degrees such as engineering, architecture, accounting, etc. I came to this college to play baseball at the college level and I really didn’t have any idea at what I wanted to do major wise. After thinking it over I decided a degree in finance would work best for me as I want to become a financial advisor. The next best thing would be engineering and then after that would be architecture. Sadly however, as stated above, none of those majors are offered. Dalton

Mario’s Answer

It really depends on what you want to do with your career and the major you are switching to. What is your current major? What is the major you want to switch to?

For some careers, it does not matter what the degree is in, as long as you have the degree. We need a little more information before we can provide any advice.
