Loriel’s Answer

Hi Edward, I see you from Kent Ohio. If you are a Kent State Student we typically recommend students take 14 and 16 credit hours per semester. Typically 14 to 16 credits per semester will get a Kent State student out in four years. This also depends on your major. I would recommend that you talked to one of your advisors within your college. Your advisor should be able to go over your roadmap and let you know what you have left and how you can get out and four years if that is your question.

Additionally, don't forget to look at your GPS. They can also give you an idea of how many classes that you have left to complete your major.

Loriel recommends the following next steps:

Schedule an appointment with your advisor through KSUadvising

Keanan’s Answer

A general amount that students living on campus take is 16 credit hours per semester. If you are commuting or working full time, 12 hours is a good place to start. If you fall below 12 hours, you are considered a part time student and might lose out on scholarship or certain financial aid. I started out taking 16 credits and realized that, when I wasn't working, I had a lot of time on my hands. I moved up to taking 18, and then 22 so I could graduate early to get a full time job faster. Its all up to you and how you feel at the school and with the classes. Some classes are tougher than others and require more commitment. I would suggest taking 12-16 to start and seeing how you feel! Don't drain yourself mentally or physically, take it one step at a time :)

Keanan recommends the following next steps:

Figure out if you will be living on campus, commuting, or working a full time job as well as attending school

Depends on the speed and quality that you want your education, if you are a full time student or part time student with a job and/or family. You need to take the amount of education for you to excel in your chosen field.
