Am I too young to make my mind up on what I want to be?
I am a sophomore. Should I wait till I am a senior to make a definite decision, or is it okay to make up my mind now and work towards that goal? #medicine #doctor #pediatrics

It is never to early to make up your mind in your future. If you know what you want to do then go for it. Focus on how to get all the knowledge you can in the field you want to be in. The more you know the better opprotunities you will have. This really is a personal decision but my daughter told me at at 6 she wanted to be a nurse and I had the pleasure of watching her graduate last month as an RN. In my opinion if you know what you want then go for it!

It's never too early to start working toward your goal.
Take as many AP or IB courses in high school. You have a lot of years of education in front of you and getting college credit in high school can save you time and money. Volunteer at your local hospital or low-income clinic. Ask physicians, PAs or other clinical providers if you can shadow them.
If you change your mind then you will still have the college credit and volunteer experience.
