What is your day-to-day routine like?
I am a sophomore in highschool, and I am interested in going to school for pediatrics.

Hi Lilly!
I’m a board certified doctor but not peds. However, I did peds rotations and chose different. Life as a doctor is fun. I get to care for people that are sick and need someone. Peds is just the younger version of what I do. I round on my patients, look at everything and try to fix what’s making them sick, try to send them home.
If I could offer a bit of a suggestion it would be to volunteer in a hospital and tell them why, be honest. It’s your time. See what you like. I hope you love medicine. I truly love my career.

As a clinical pharmacist at the hospital, my day starts off with the clinical team doing ward rounds before I go to the main pharmacy. If you're interested in workingwithkids at the hospital, I would say; go for it because my mood lightens whenever we enter the pediatric ward. It's more colorful and the children can be really sick but they're faces don't really show especially when they're receiving treatment. It gives me great joy to see them get better and their parents are also happy.
