Hello!
That is a great question to ask prior to dedicating yourself to the world of nursing! I am sure that every individual nurse has their own replies to this question; however, in general, I would have to say that what makes it worth it is the satisfaction of knowing that you helped someone. Personally, I am a pediatric nurse, and specialize in mostly home health care nursing, so I know that these children and their families need the medical help within the homes. It is not always easy to be in this position, but knowing that I helped the families, makes every torturous minute of nursing school well worth it! I have to admit, seeing the patients smile when I walk through the door and my shift begins helps too! :) Congratulations on finally following your dreams, and welcome to the world of nursing!

Keely,

I definitely know what your feeling my wife is a nurse and that's what she went to school for. I will say from her experience it is alot of work but it is one of the most rewarding careers because you get to impact someone's life which is an awesome experience.
