Emmy, it's crucial to remember that picking a career is a significant step that demands careful thought and introspection. There are several strategies you can adopt to examine your choices and make an enlightened decision.
First off, evaluate your likes, strengths, and principles. Think about the things and subjects that excite you, as well as the talents and skills you possess naturally. Ponder over what drives and invigorates you, both in personal and professional life. Recognizing your passions and values will assist you in aligning your career decisions with what truly resonates with you, enhancing the chances of finding joy and satisfaction in your work.
Next, Emmy, it's important to delve deep into different career sectors and industries. Look into various job roles, their duties, and the necessary qualifications. Understand the current job market trends and the demand for various professions. Think about aspects like earning potential, job security, work-life balance, and growth opportunities. Gathering this data will allow you to make informed comparisons and narrow down your choices to those that match your interests and goals.
Try to find opportunities for practical experience and exploration. Internships, volunteering, part-time jobs, and informational interviews are excellent ways to get a feel for different career paths and industries. Use these opportunities to try out potential career options, learn from industry professionals, and gain useful skills and knowledge. Also, consider pursuing additional education or training if needed to qualify for your chosen career path.
Moreover, Emmy, think about your long-term objectives and dreams. Visualize your future self and the steps needed to reach there. Set realistic short-term and long-term goals that will guide your career path. Stay open to change and adaptation, as your interests and priorities may shift over time. Regularly revisit your career goals and make necessary adjustments to stay on the path towards a fulfilling and rewarding career.
Finally, seek advice and support from mentors, career counselors, and trusted advisors. Use their expertise and insights to gain perspective, overcome obstacles, and make informed decisions. Networking with professionals in your chosen field can also offer valuable opportunities for mentorship, advice, and career progression.
To sum up, Emmy, remember that choosing a career path is a blend of self-evaluation, research, exploration, goal-setting, and support from others. By taking a proactive and thoughtful approach to career planning, you can find a path that aligns with your interests, values, and dreams, paving the way for a successful and fulfilling career journey.

Ask your friends and teachers/parents what they think you could be good at. You could use that information to look at jobs to fit those skills.
Join clubs at school, attend career fairs and find ways to volunteer in the community. You could end up in some pretty amazing rooms with people who can help you both today and in the future. You should also take advantage of electives and exploring things that might be outside of your comfort zone. I ended up as a professional speaker and sales professional, two things I NEVER would have imagined when in high school.

This depends on you and what are you seeing yourself after 5 years.Firstly stay in quiet place and close your eyes, imagine your future self after 5 years, what are you wearing, is it engineering clothes, suits, scrub or what. Put your hobby in your mind is your career related to your hobby? does your job is good for you and you can handle it.
After that search about the career you imagine and read very well about it specially the advantages and disadvantages.
I’ll again and again it’s very important to feel good towards this career .If it’s related to your hobby or talented then you win.

Thank you for your question. A lot of students have similar question. Firstly, you need to find out what careers you have interest
Below are my suggestions:
1. Think about what you have interest, eg your hobbies, favourite subjects, etc and identify the related careers
Eg if you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music composer, music producer, etc
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be accountant, engineer , banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest.
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counselor, your parents, etc
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Dive into your journey by exploring the book "What Color is My Parachute". It's a great stepping stone.
Then, take it a step further by taking a career interest survey available at your school's guidance department or your local library. It's a fantastic way to discover your passions.
Lastly, consider choosing a career path less traveled. This could potentially lead to greater success and faster advancement in your professional journey. Remember, you have the potential to shine in any field you choose!
