Completing Certifications for any career will always enhance the skills you already have or teach you new ones. After considering a few things and your personal choice, you can decide if you want to add certifications to your education.
The certification you speak of will certify that you have advanced skills in Java Script Technology. Some people won't have this certification, so on a resume, you will stand out for showing additional expertise and skills when you apply for work. Although your college degree would be the primary experience that employers will use as deal makers, the certifications would only be in your favor if you decide to move forward with doing any.
Certifications are the credentials that could be important in getting promotions at a job or raises, too. Sometimes it's worth investing a couple of hundred dollars to do these and to also feel the personal achievement and accomplishment. I have left a link to a website that lists other certifications that you can consider. If you do not like the time length of the Java Script cert course, you can always look for different ones and there are a lot to choose from. I have left some links for you below listing some certifications that you can consider.
As you work with various assignments and new projects in computer science, start creating a resume with all of your experience and education listed. No one can actually predict how your career will go, but you are on the right path by thinking about certifications. My advice is to obtain as many as you can. Be aware that many trainings you can take would provide you with only a certificate of completion or attendance, not an official certification. Although Certificates of Attendance or Completion do show initiative and interest, you will want to put more emphasis on official Certification that says you are certified to work with a particular subject.
You can include Certifications in a separate heading on your resume or, if you have one, it's okay to include it under the Education heading on your resume.
To choose other certifications that may be useful to you, pinpoint the skills that you already have and search for certifications for that. For instance, if you are great at CGI, look for something that would certify you as an expert working with CGI. You will have to decide which other ones would enhance your skills and it will take some first hand internet searching and reading.
I hope that this has been of help and I wish you all the best !
