How do you know what part of the medical field you will like to work in?

I am a 17 year old male that lives in the Los Angeles area. My mom is a RN and I want to know what else is possible to work in this field. #doctor #medicine #hospital #medical-field

I was always drawn to women's healthcare. I also appreciated that gynecology offered both clinical and surgical elements to my practice.

Good Question! There are a wide range of jobs within the medical field that you might be interested in. Since your mom is a nurse, she may be able to help you more-
I love nursing because you can work in so many different TYPES of nursing. I work in the Neonatal ICU with small, sick babies-- but some nurses work with children, adults, older adults-- in the hospital, office, schools, etc.
You might consider working in a laboratory with specimens and report your findings to the doctor-- You could become a radiology tech and take x-rays of people who need your help. There are lots of choices!
When you work in the medical field it is important that you are detail oriented, conscientious, and flexible. There are many jobs that are related to computers within the medical field now as well!
